Ellie_is_Carrion One of my all time favorites. A pummeling album from start to finish with a darkness and unease to it that I believe has yet to be replicated. Favorite track: Dead Head.

Ruthless & Toothless Godflesh’s unique take on extreme metal resulted in a true terror of an album. Streetcleaner encapsulates all the worst things and feelings in our sphere and wraps them up in a harrowing blend of bludgeoning riffs, layered vocals, dizzying noise and truly apocalyptic atmosphere. It might be a tough pill to swallow at first, but you’ll probably be glad that you did afterwards! Favorite track: Like Rats.

xhrl_ By layering feedback & harmonics to deliver thunderous yet meditative music, Godflesh create industrial grindcore using rhythm machines while keeping a throaty organic voice of tone & timbre on guitar. This LP slowly builds a haunting, resonant mood across its songs. Astute listeners make a mental sketch as earlier songs are interpreted & the waves of emotion tied to the unfolding (ringing, echoing) layers of sound are grasped. With an unthwarted stare into man’s ill soul, this music is sublime!

Dur de définir qu'elle est le meilleur album de GODFLESH, en fait ils ont tous leur singularité. Je trouve que sur cet album GODFLESH a atteint une sorte de perfection à leur musique, à la fois froide, brutale et industrielle mais aussi envoûtante et mentale. Cet album est un condensé du meilleur de GODFLESH, c'est pour moi l'album de la consécration. Je vais mettre "BE GOD" en titre préféré pour sa puissance, lourde et complètement mystique mais tous les titres sont excellents. gaston_macoute

'A World Lit Only By Fire' is an angry and gloomy motherfucker. From the start, you're being battered with pummeling, gritty low end, piercing dissonance and industrial cold. It paints a dystopian picture in my mind - of bulldozers slowly crawling through a wasteland and people hiding in sheer panic, hungry and desperate for a glimpse of hope. This album changed my life. It shaped my tastes in so many ways, and not least of which by helping to set me straight on punk. I didn't even know about d-beat in my teens, and this was the first album I heard that featured it right in your fucking face. I was also in the process of leaving my hometown; deciding where to go, what to do. It helped me make the right decision. What else can be said about this thing; I always knew it was one for the long haul. I'm forever grateful to this band. Absolute Zero
